Then this happened (read the comments):
Dan’s a photographer I know, who lives in Spain and truly does take a lot of sunset photos. But actually in a good way. He’s the lead photography instructor at Matador U, so I have my work cut out for me.
Will you help me? I’ll be posting #weekendfoodpics on Facebook and Twitter (and Instagram maybe, if I can summon the will) as I cook my Cochinita Pibil and attempt to prove once and for all, that I am in fact marginally better at food photography than the guy who does mostly travel photos.
It’s just for fun, but you can send me your best pics from this weekend and I’ll post those too.
Here are the results!
Dan’s photos (the full album is here):
And then I finished the weekend off by preparing and photographing my Pibil Cochinita recipe.
So who won? I mean obviously Dan. But you know what, his photos are great, but do you think he actually ate all that food? NO. So who REALLY won? Hmmm? The woman with the full platter of Pibil Cochinita sitting in her fridge, that’s who. Also Dan only drinks white wine, so that’s that. Think about it. He LIVES in Spain. I mean sure, his photos are awesome but everyday he gets up and doesn’t drink Spanish red wine. Those pics from Italy? No red wine. So actually, I think we can safely say, that I won, because I would never ever go to Italy and not eat ALL the food and drink ALL the red wine.
Highlights from this weekend’s user submissions:
And a nod to Garine Tcholakian who I meant to include but FB is now hiding her submissions from me.
Thanks everyone! That was fun!
